ASSIST / Outreach
Nurses

Ok - so this might be confusing. ASSIST was the old name for Nurses
that specialised in helping young people gain access to sexual health
services in a non-patronising, non-judgemental way. They
are now called Outreach Nurses. Basically they won't lecture
you or give you a hard time but they will make sure you get all
the information you need, and, if you need them, free condoms,
pregnancy tests and emergency
contraception.
You can also hook up with them if you just want to talk about sexual
health, sex or pregnancy issues. You don't have to be having
or wanting sex to find out more about your sexual health.
Just because the Outreach nurses can give out free condoms does
not mean they have to!
Outreach Nurses can be found at Schools, Drop-Ins
and 3Cs clinics.
We provide a drop in service for young people at:
4YP –
14 Lower Brook Street
Mon 8.30-11.30am ,Tues 5.30-8.30pm,Thur 6.30-8.30pm.
This offers a full contraceptive service - just for young people.
